Twitter has been working hard on presenting users with new features and even a new app, Engage. Now, it seems that the company is preparing a new option, namely stickers for images and the ability to search for them using hashtags.

Twitter has announced its intention to introduce new stickers for images, considering that millions of photos are sent every day on the social networking platform, according to the Twitter blog. The company says stickers are a new way to add creativity to photos.

The new update will come with the option for users to browse through sets of stickers so that they can join in on real-time conversations. The update brings a gallery filled with hundreds of accessories, emoji, and even some tools for enhancing images. Twitter has announced that users can add multiple stickers to an image, resize and rotate sticker elements and place them anywhere in the picture.

Images with stickers become searchable using hashtags

Users simply need to tweet an image with stickers in order to make it searchable using hashtags. They just have to tap on a sticker, and the application will open a new timeline filled with images from all over the world, with the main common element being the sticker.

Twitter will be rolling out the new feature over the next few weeks, and it will be available for smartphones running Android and iOS.

Aside from stickers, Twitter also comes with some image editing options, like filters, tags, cropping and accessibility options. It might seem quite late for Twitter to make such a move, considering that these image elements have been around for quite some time on other social networks like Snapchat.

A few days ago, the social networking platform launched a new application called Engage, which is basically an analytics app with complex tools. The app was only made available on iOS, but it's expected to reach Android soon.
