The development team at The Creative Assembly and publisher SEGA are continuing to deliver more information about the coming Total War: Warhammer, with the focus shifting towards the dwarf race, which can be seen in action for the first time in a new video.

The two companies talk about the general combat philosophy for the faction, which will focus on superior equipment and sturdy fighters to oppose their enemies and gives gamers a look at the Longbeards, Ironbreakers and Hammerers.

The Creative Assembly states, "Dwarfs are expert craftsmen, most working in ancient forges and workshops where centuries, if not millennia, of hereditary knowledge, are smithed into weapons and armour whose quality cannot be replicated anywhere else in the world."

The studio is also offering a biography for Thorgrim Grudgebearer, the High King and war leader of the race.

He is mighty in battle and ready to conquer new lands, but he is also wise and ready to embrace new technology as long as the dwarves can use it for their own purposes.

The race is focused on getting revenge on all those who they bear a grudge against, and their leader will be at the front of his army, using the Axe of Grimnir.

Total War: Warhammer will deliver a blend of fantasy and strategy

The Creative Assembly has already delivered an extensive look at the human race and the shift to the dwarves is interesting because it allows the company to show more of the lore that their game will explore.

It will be interesting to see whether the studio is planning to offer an entirely new battle video, like the one linked to the Black Fire Pass, which features the new race and its unique units in action.

Total War: Warhammer will also feature the Vampire Counts and the Orks as races, and there is also speculation that The Creative Assembly will officially announce Chaos as a presence in the game, even if they might not be playable.

The team has promised that it will redesign the core elements of the franchise to better suit the fantasy universe, with a new set of features for both battles and the strategy map layer.

Total War: Warhammer will be out on the PC at some point in 2016.
