After being in the works for more than a month, the thrilling Tomb Raider 2013 reboot developed by Crystal Dynamics and published by Square Enix has been successfully ported to Linux.

As expected, Feral Interactive is behind the Linux port of the acclaimed Tomb Raider game from 2013, whose main protagonist is the gorgeous Lara Croft, and those who have already purchased it for Mac and Windows can now also play it on their GNU/Linux operating systems, including Valve's SteamOS.

"Today, the ultimate survivor brings her exhilarating origin story to Linux," said Feral Interactive. "When a young Lara Croft is shipwrecked on an uncharted island, she enters a fight for survival armed with nothing but her instincts. Help Lara perfect her natural gifts as she embarks on a perilous journey to save her friends and escape the island’s murderous inhabitants."

Here are the Tomb Raider 2013 Linux requirements

If you're planning on playing the Tomb Raider game on your Linux box, you should be aware of the system requirements recommended by Feral Interactive. First, you'll need to be running a 64-bit operating system, be it either Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) or later, or SteamOS 2.0 or higher. The computer should sport at least an Intel i3 or AMD FX-6300 CPU, with 4GB RAM and a 1GB Nvidia graphics card or 2GB AMD GPU.

Of course, you should have the latest Mesa 11.2 3D Graphics Library installed, and for the best performance, Feral Interactive recommends that you play the game on a rig powered by at least an Intel i5 processor, with 8GB RAM and an Nvidia GeForce 760 graphics card that features 3GB of memory. The latest Nvidia 364.12 proprietary video driver must be installed too. Buy Tomb Raider right now from Steam or Feral Interactive's online store.
