Tom Cruise talks about his crazy stunts on “Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation”

Much of the marketing for the latest “Mission: Impossible” installment, “Rogue Nation,” which drops in theaters this Friday, July 31, 2015, is centered on the “insane” stunts by leading man Tom Cruise, who insisted on doing practical effects as opposed to CGI. Or letting professional stuntmen take over.

So no wonder the hosts of the shows he appears on want him to talk about the stunts more and even give them more details.

Embedded below is Tom’s chat with Jimmy Fallon on the topic, after the epic Lip Sync Battle that Tom won, but only because Jimmy is usually very graceful to his guests.

The actor talks about doing 2 of the scariest stunts in his career, the one where he hung off the side of a flying plane and the one where he had to dive underwater and hold his breath for more than 6 minutes.

He admits that they were “intense” and rather insane, and that he was scared about doing them, but insists that he only did it because he aims to “entertain” the fans. Apparently, he didn’t even tell his family and friends about what he was planning to do.

“Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation” also stars Simon Pegg and Jeremy Renner, and is already getting solid reviews from the critics from advance screenings. So maybe the risk will pay off and the movie becomes a blockbuster.
