14 DAY TRIAL // Samsung has sold more than 1 million Tizen-powered Z1 smartphones, which is why the South Korean company has decided to bring even more devices by the end of the year.
We reported less than a week ago that Samsung had not one, but several Tizen smartphones in the pipeline, which are expected to be launched on the market in 2015.
Some of these devices are mid-range and are likely to be released in developed markets, while entry-level smartphones will be available for purchase in emerging markets.
Samsung Z1 has managed to reach 1 million units sold thanks to its popularity in India and Bangladesh. The next Tizen-powered smartphone might be launched in these countries as well, but since it's a mid-range device, it might come to other regions as well.
The Z3 is the next Tizen smartphone Samsung will introduce, and from what we hear, it might be officially unveiled later this month, at Tizen Developer Summit.
No word on pricing and availability yet
The smartphone has been recently spotted at Zauba, the Indian import/export commission, so it makes sense to assume that it will be made available in this country very soon.
According to SamMobile, Samsung Z3 should sport a 5-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution, which is a huge improvement over Z1's 4-inch display with 480 x 800 pixels resolution.
Also, the Z3 will be equipped with a more powerful 1.3GHz quad-core Spreadtrum SC7730S processor, 1.5GB RAM, and 8GB of internal memory. A microSD card slot for memory expansion will be implemented as well.
On the back, Samsung Z3 will feature an 8-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash, and video recording, whereas on the front there will be a 5-megapixel secondary camera.
The Z3 will measure 141.5 x 70 x 9.5 mm and it will be powered by a 2,600 mAh battery. It's also worth mentioning that the smartphone will weigh around 140g and it will offer dual-SIM support.
