Walking in the footsteps of so many messaging apps, Tinder has decided that it wants to take its service to the desktop too via a web app.

"Introducing Tinder Online: a fun, new web experience and your English professor’s worst nightmare. Mobile phones not allowed in class? Just fire up your laptop and swipe incognito. Cubicle life got you down? Now you can toggle between spreadsheets and Super Likes in a flash. “Not Enough Storage?” Not a problem. Don’t let life get in the way of your Tinder game. With Tinder Online, you can swipe anywhere in the world you have an internet connection. And while the online experience is slightly more limited than the mobile app experience (for now), it’s still the Tinder you know and love," the company markets its new desktop alternative.

Easy to use

All you'll have to do to get matching while browsing the Internet on your computer is visit Tinder.com and log into your account. If you're new to Tinder, of course, you'll have to log in through Facebook, much like you have to on the mobile app.

Once you start going through the photos of possible matches, you'll just have to start swiping left and right with the help of your mouse. When a match is found, you'll be able to start messaging the other person in a rather clean and simple interface.

Tinder Online is currently being tested in just a few countries - Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Indonesia, Italy, Mexico, Phillippines, and Sweden. Since Facebook access is limited in some areas, the company is also testing the ability to log in via SMS directly to your mobile phone in various markets.

Even if the new feature is currently being tested in just a handful of countries, it will likely roll out worldwide if things go according to plan. It's clear that they're putting in the effort to make Tinder even more accessible to people all over the world, so it's going to be interesting to see whether it's a success or not.
