Redmond goes all sentimental with new Bing ad

Long gone are the days when Microsoft made fun of products developed by its rivals to advertise its own, and the new Microsoft is much more inclined to put the focus on the actual capabilities its software and services can provide to users worldwide.

This new ad that puts the spotlight on Bing’s search capabilities and also advertises some other products such as Lumia phones and Surface tablets is definitely one of the most sentimental ads Microsoft has released in the last couple of years, and there’s no doubt that this is a much better way to promote its products than poking fun at rivals.

Bing is the second most-used search engine

And truth is, an ad with such a powerful message has more chances to convince one to use Microsoft’s products than one that’s full of rant and jokes aimed at Google or Apple, so no matter if you’re a Microsoft fan or not, just hit the play button below to see what this is all about.

“A few months ago, to celebrate Bing's birthday, we put together a video. It wasn't designed to be shared broadly, it's not an ad, just a thank you to the people who work on Bing. They liked it and asked if they could share it with their family and friends. So, here it is,” the video description reads.

Microsoft’s Bing is currently the second most-used search engine in the world with a share of approximately 20 percent, while Google’s still leading the market with 65 percent.

Despite the criticism and recommendations offered by analysts and so-called experts across the world, Microsoft is very keen on investing in Bing in the coming years, especially because figures provided by third-parties show that usage of its search engine is on the rise. Bing is becoming a multi-billion dollar business, Microsoft says, so the fight against Google must continue.
