A limited-edition iPhone X covered in 24 karat gold and wearing not Apple’s logo, but the image of Russian President Vladimir Putin, is now available for purchase starting at $4,700, though if you opt for 256GB storage, it costs $5,000.
As you can see in the photo gallery below, the phone comes with the portrait of Putin himself instead of the Apple logo, as well with a text that reads “The Golden Age of Vladimir Putin.”
As the company itself explains, the phone was “created in honor of Vladimir Putin’s victory in the 2018 election,” and it combines several Russian symbols, like the detailed image of the Kremlin. In the lower part of the phone, Caviar also added a Russian quote reading “We are committed to the best future and we will achieve it.”
Only 76 units will be produced, the company says, as a way to celebrate the 76 percent of Russian people who voted for Vladimir Putin in this year’s elections.
Donald Trump-edition iPhone
If you’re not the biggest fan of Vladimir Putin, no problem. Caviar has recently announced a custom iPhone with Donald Trump’s portrait on the back, as a way to say “thank you” to the US President for congratulating Putin after winning the 2018 Presidential race.
If neither of the two custom iPhone models appeals to your wallet, you can still purchase a standard iPhone X from the Apple Store.
Rumor has it that sales of the devices are way, way below expectations, so Apple would really need more buyers for the model that was supposed to help it reach the $1 trillion market cap. The bigger problem isn’t necessarily that it didn’t, but that the iPhone X is causing bigger headaches for the company throughout the year given the dropping demand.
