Looks like it could belong to Nikola Tesla himself

Apparently, way before Elon Musk ever tried building a watch using its car brand Tesla, some guys that have a penchant for Victorian design - or more accurately said, Steampunk - designed a watch with serious design cues from the 19th century for those who love a retro vibe, with some additional fantasy details.

If you happen to think that Apple Watch is probably too clean, way much filled with technology, too glossy and probably even too mainstream, you could go for something completely different. Welcome, Tesla Watch!

Dubbed after Nikola Tesla, the famous Serbia-American inventor known for his contributions to inventing the modern alternating current, but also for some highly extravagant inventions, the watch wants to aesthetically capture that 19th century "mad scientist" vibe.

Copying the color and style of weathered brass, the watch has additionally a stylish and comfortable leather strap that completed the classical and vintage look. To add to that Steampunk design, an ornamental winding key was added on the side of one strap, while a pair of vacuum-tube-style LEDs can be switched on and off by a small onboard control switch.

Unfortunately, the Tesla watch isn't water resistant, but who cares, really, as long nobody buys it for practicality but for its design.

This simple, yet beautiful watch can be bought for $60 on ThinkGeek starting this October.
