Microsoft took the wraps of its more affordable Surface Go earlier today, and the company has also announced a new series of accessories to be used with the device.

In addition to a new Type Cover, that will be available in standard colors or in Alcantara for a small extra fee, Microsoft is also releasing a new Surface Mobile Mouse that can be purchased separately and be used not only with a Surface Go, but pretty much with any other Surface model.

Just like the Surface Go, the new mouse was developed to be more affordable than its predecessors, so it costs only $34.99.

It follows the same recipe as the Surface Go, as Microsoft built it to be slim and light – the Surface Go is Microsoft’s smallest, lightest, and most affordable Surface model to date. The New Mobile Mouse tips the scales at just 78 grams, even with the 2 AAA batteries connected.

Swift Pair on Windows 10 April 2018 Update

The design of the mouse is just as exquisite as you’d expect a Surface-branded product to be and it comes in three different colors pioneered by the Surface Laptop and available on the Surface Go as well, namely Platinum, Burgundy, and Cobalt Blue.

Using Bluetooth 4.2 Low Energy, the mouse can connect to virtually any Bluetooth-compatible device, and it integrates Swift Pair to seamlessly pair with a PC running Windows 10 April 2018 Update.

There are four buttons, three of which are the standard ones for working in Windows 10, while the fourth is a power button that also doubles as a pairing key. A metal wheel offers vertical scrolling and middle-click, while further customization options allow you to reassign these settings and see information on battery health.

Just like the Surface Go, the mouse will go on pre-order later today, while shipments will kick off in the early days of August.
