Concept imagines a high-end mix for the Nokia 3310

Nokia 3310 was brought back from the dead in an attempt to capitalize on the popularity of the legacy model, but in a world full of affordable smartphones, it’s hard to survive without a truly appealing feature package.

And since the new 3310 doesn’t impress in terms of design and features, the designers over at Phone Industry have created a more exquisite version of the phone that could become a true competitor for the Galaxy S9 and the iPhone X in all regards.

As you can see in the photo gallery and the video below, the concept imagines a completely overhauled Nokia 3310, one that’s truly a smartphone and which gives up on all features that you’d otherwise expect to find on a dumb phone.

Exquisite look

The high-end look is possible thanks to what appears to be a mix of an aluminum frame and a ceramic back, which is supposed to give not only a luxurious feeling, but also make the phone feel solid and compact. Obviously, using ceramic for the whole phone could substantially increase the price, and glass could instead be a much better choice.

The dual-camera layout on the back is the one that gets all the attention, and by the looks of things, it’s likely to become a love-it-or-hate-it kind of thing. The 6.2-inch curved display with 18:9 aspect ratio brings it in line with flagships like the Samsung Galaxy S9+.

The designers claim this phone can only be equipped with the best in terms of hardware, including the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor that powers the US version of the Galaxy S9.

Needless to say, this is just a concept for now, but without a doubt, it’s pretty hard, if not impossible, to ever see the Nokia 3310 evolving into such a high-end product. Nokia could actually benefit from such a makeover given the legacy of the model, but given the 2017 model, the company is more interested in keeping it an affordable device that’s aimed for the masses.
