14 DAY TRIAL // They say the next-generation iPhone would bring a major overhaul of the current model, and this is seen as the perfect opportunity for concept designers across the world to put their imagination at work and envision the way the upcoming device could look like.
This concept created by Iskander Utebayev imagines an iPhone 8 version that eliminates the side bezels and comes with the rear camera integrated into the Apple logo for a reason that could not make much sense at first glance.
First and foremost, the thing that looks really stunning is the edge-to-edge display, which has nearly no bezels, as is the case of the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge (and very likely the upcoming Galaxy S8). The iPhone looks brilliant with such a feature, and there’s a good chance that Apple actually makes this real with the new generation, as the company is reportedly exploring ways to eliminate bezels.
Additionally, the concept imagines the iPhone in more colors, including what seems to be a red version. There’s no white flavor, however, which could make more sense given the ceramic white version of the Apple Watch.
Camera integrated into the Apple logo
As for the camera integrated into the Apple logo, there’s a very small chance to see this happening, especially because there’s not enough room to put the camera module in the middle of the phone.
This is one of the reasons the camera is at the top of the iPhone integrated into the top bezel, as placing it under the display wouldn’t allow Apple to make the device so thin. Additionally, integrating the dual-camera system available on the iPhone 7 Plus in the Apple logo is pretty much impossible because of the limited space.
In the end, the edge-to-edge display imagined here is what makes the iPhone really beautiful, and the only thing we can do right now is hope that Apple’s ideas align with this concept. We’ll find out more later this year, as the iPhone 8 is projected to launch in the fall.
