Jot Dash manages to trick your iPad into writing thin lines

Usually, the styluses for smartphones and tablets come in two varieties. There are the Bluetooth-connected ones that are more precise but usually are manufacturer-limited and don't work with every device out there. And there are the rubbery-tipped ones that are imprecise and have smudgy lines.

Adonit believes it has struck a line in the middle, if I'm allowed the pun, and thinks it has found a new happy medium with its Jot Dash pen. The new Jot Dash is extremely precise without having to be paired via Bluetooth or to rely on any app. It works with iOS and Android devices, Windows excluded, of course, and is powered by a click button at the top of the pen.

The precision point is of 1.9mm in diameter and uses Adonit's own PixelPoint technology. Adonit's tech consists in detecting the touch signals the tablet is receiving from the pen and then rebroadcasting them back in much smaller diameter shapes, so lines will be rendered by the tablet thin and natural instead of thick and bulky, as in the case of other iPad styluses.

The new Jot Dash from Adonit has a total battery life of 14 hours, and it can recharge back in only 45 minutes, having this way incredible levels of autonomy and reliability.

The pens are available today and can be shipped with a charging dock for about $50.
