Today, April 27, 2016, Philip Müller from the Manjaro development team has had the pleasure of announcing the release of the third preview build of the upcoming Manjaro Linux 16.06 "Daniella" operating system.

Not much has changed since the second preview of Manjaro Linux 16.06 "Daniella," which was announced at the beginning of the month, with the exception of initial support for the forthcoming Linux 4.6 kernel, as well as the recently released KDE Applications 16.04 software suite for the KDE flavor of the OS.

"It took us almost another month to prepare this third preview of our upcoming stable release we call Daniella," says Philip Müller, leader of Manjaro Project, in today's announcement. "So please test this release thru and thru and let us know what you think about this preview of Daniella. We hope you enjoy this release."

Manjaro Linux 16.06 coming later this year with new features

For those of you not in the loop, the Manjaro Linux 16.06 "Daniella" operating system is coming later this year as a major upgrade to the current stable release of the Arch Linux-based distribution, Manjaro Linux 15.12 "Capella," which received its seventeenth update pack just the other day.

Manjaro Linux 16.06 "Daniella" promises big new features, among which we can mention the latest Xfce 4.12 and KDE Plasma 5.6 desktop environments, a much-improved version of the Manjaro Settings Manager in-house built utility that lets users install many series of kernels Manjaro offers, and the Pamac 4.0 graphical package manager.

There's no official release date set for the launch of Manjaro Linux 16.06 "Daniella," at least not at the moment of writing this article. However, you can download the Live ISO images of today's third preview build, with the Xfce and KDE flavors, right now via our website and take the operating system for a test drive. Don't forget to report bugs, if you find any.
