Microsoft is adding an interesting spin to how users consume video content online. The Redmond company has launched theBubble, a new online destination designed to kick up a notch the way that users discover, share and enjoy comedy content on the web. Available through MSN, theBubble comedy channel brings to the table a new user interface, allowing users to navigate content that is organized into bubbles. The concept is interesting to say the least, and is more than worth a look.

“MSN partnered with Grind Networks to create this new experience, which will highlight the best comedy online and present it alongside MSN original programming. Grind Networks is known for creating digital entertainment experiences in partnership with the world’s biggest brands. Its comedy content is already distributed to over 23 MSN markets worldwide and generates more than 75 million video views a month,” Reed Price – MSN director, revealed.

theBubble visitors will be able to choose a new video to watch from a sea of video bubbles floating on the screen, which are updated daily. At the same time, they can navigate content based on the day it was added, as well as a few categories, including the Daily Bubble, Virals, Parody, politics, Stand-up, and TV clips. According to Microsoft, “The Daily Bubble” will be a daily hosted show, set up to highlight the funniest videos on the Web.

“Wry and irreverent host Will Greenberg showcases and lampoons current comedy memes and clips while directing users to the full programs. Morrow and MSN Senior Video Producer Molly Sullivan said they expect the program to appeal to the broad cross-section of America that turns to MSN every day for news, sports, entertainment, fashion and food. Morrow said that while he believes ‘The Daily Bubble’ will immediately pull viewers in, we’ll closely watch how users navigate the site, what they watch and constantly refine and improve the experience,” Price added.
