The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt patch 1.07 brings an alternate movement system for main protagonist Geralt, and according to the latest details from developer CD Projekt Red, the update will allow players to try out both mechanics and then decide on how responsive they want the main character to be.

The Witcher 3 launched back in May across PC, PS4, and Xbox One platforms all around the world. While the role-playing experience delighted millions of fans, there have been a few annoyances regarding some specific mechanics, such as the inventory, Geralt's movement, and other such things.

Patch 1.07 brings an alternate control system that can be switched on

As promised earlier this week, a major update, in the form of patch 1.07, is going to appear for The Witcher 3 across PC, PS4, and Xbox One, adding an alternate movement system for Geralt, in order to make his controls more responsive.

According to a new statement from CD Projekt Red Community Manager Marcin Momot, the new system arrives after feedback from fans about the unsatisfying movement system. The new mechanic can be switched on if players like it. If not, they can stick to the original system, especially if they've grown accustomed to it after spending tens if not hundreds of hours in the sprawling RPG.

"Some players have been reporting that Geralt’s responsiveness was not up to their preferences so we are introducing a toggle to switch between two types of responsiveness. Once you play it, you’ll be able to choose the one that fits you better. If you put in a lot of hours into the game and we change it all of a sudden, that would feel weird, wouldn’t it? That’s why we thought it would be only natural to have this as an on/off option," he explains on the forums.

The big patch is expected to appear later this week, probably in the next couple of days, across PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
