The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt developer Marcin Momot confirms a few more interesting details about the upcoming Hearts of Stone expansion for the sprawling role-playing game. First up, its quests can be played during or after the main story and they'll require at least level 30 on the main character.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt launched back in May, and after releasing all sorts of free updates and patches, not to mention different free downloadable content, the game's developer, CD Projekt Red, is currently working on its two major expansions.

The first add-on is set to roll out in October, in the form of Hearts of Stone. The studio has already mentioned that they're putting the finishing touches to the big add-on, and some teaser statements have surfaced in recent weeks about its story and its adventures.

Now, CD Projekt Red Community Manager Marcin Momot confirms on Twitter a few more tidbits of information about the big expansion for The Witcher 3.

Hearts of Stone provides a challenge

First up, its own quest line can be played during the main story but also after it, so fans shouldn't worry about missing out depending on their stage in the main plot.

However, players will need to get their version of protagonist Geralt of Rivia to at least level 30, as the quests in Hearts of Stone are built with a level 30+ requirement.

Those who are already going through the game a second time thanks to the free New Game+ mode that launched a few weeks ago will also be able to enjoy Hearts of Stone, as its quests will scale up for the much more challenging mode.

Unfortunately, no other details have been offered by Momot and it's still unclear when exactly in October The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will get its Hearts of Stone expansion.

The studio is also working right now on a bigger patch for the RPG, in order to add fresh dialog to the Triss and Yennefer romance options.
