Windows 10 adoption is going really well, Microsoft says, and some new figures provided today on Twitter by Yusuf Mehdi, Corporate Vice President of Marketing for Windows and Devices, are supposed to confirm this thing.

Mehdi has revealed that no less than 75 million devices are already running Windows 10, and according to his statements, these figures are “growing every day” in order to help the company achieve its 1 billion devices powered by Windows 10 goal.

Redmond plans to bring the new operating system on 1 billion devices by 2017, and this also includes PCs and smartphones, but it's not yet clear if Mehdi's numbers also refer to anything else than desktop computers. Previously, Microsoft only provided data on PCs, so this is most likely the case here too.

Windows 10 in every country on the planet

What's more, Microsoft says that Windows 10 adoption is going unbelievably well not only in the biggest markets across the world but in every single country. Right now, Windows 10 is running in 192 countries, according to Mehdi, which means that it arrived in virtually every country on the planet.

And in case you were wondering, more than 90,000 PC configurations and tablet models have already upgraded to Windows 10, which not only shows the success the new OS is recording but also proves that it's compatible with a wide array of hardware setups.

Including old computers, that is. Mehdi explains that “even some devices manufactured in 2007 have upgraded to Windows 10.” In other words, a number of PCs running Windows Vista, or at least shipped with it, can be upgraded to Windows 10. Of course, this means that you need to purchase a Windows 10 license, as Windows Vista PCs do not qualify for the free upgrade offer.

And last but not least, Microsoft says that plenty of celebrities have joined its campaign to upgrade the world to Windows 10, including Kim Kardashian and Lady Gaga.
