14 DAY TRIAL // The Seven Deadly Sins: Knights of Britannia is one of the first Bandai Namco games to arrive in 2018. The video game is an adaptation of the manga and anime series with the same name, and it was confirmed to be launched exclusively on the PlayStation 4 on February 9.
A demo of the game was available last week at a Bandai Namco press event, which gave us a taste of what fans of the anime series should expect. First off, The Seven Deadly Sins is an action-adventure game that features team-based fights.
Once a group of knights roaming the region of Britannia, The Seven Deadly Sins disbanded after they have been caught plotting against the Liones Kingdom. Although rumors claimed they were defeated by the Holy Knights, some people thought they were still alive.
Fast forward ten years and the Holy Knights become the new tyrannical rulers of the Liones Kingdom after capturing the king. You'll play as Elizabeth, the third princess who embarks on a perilous journey to find the Seven Deadly Sins and ask them for help in taking back the kingdom from the Holy Knights.
The 20-minute demo starts when you meet the first knight of the Seven Deadly Sins group and enlists his help. You are immediately recognized by one of the Holy Knights and fight ensues. Each character in the game has his/her own set of skill and spells, which can be triggered using various button combinations.
Even though you'll be playing as a team, you'll only control one character in combat, but you can choose whichever you want from a wide array of famous knights, including Meliodas and Hawk.
The graphics and artwork look a bit cartoonish since the game draws inspiration from the anime series. If you've seen the Seven Deadly Sins anime series, you'll be pleased to know the video game retains all traits that made it so popular among fans.
Finally, it's also worth mentioning the game comes with a Duel mode as well, where players can choose a character and fight against the AI or other players online in 1vs1 or 2vs2 matches.
