The Kardashians, dubbed by the November 2015 issue of Cosmopolitan magazine “America’s First Family,” should have been in the possession of multiple Emmys by now, for their long-running reality show on E!, Keeping Up with the Kardashians.

Kanye West, who is married to the most famous Kardashian (for now), Kim, did a 2-hour interview to promote his second collection with Adidas, and he dropped this gem as part of the discussion.

The way he sees it, reality television is “an art form” and the Kardashians perfected it. He compares reality TV to what was happening in showbiz some years ago, when rappers were deemed persona non-grata for the mere fact that they happened to do rap for a living.

The Kardashians are just like that, but things have started to change. As of late, the fashion world has started paying more attention to them, which seemed unlikely a few years ago.

“My wife and her family shoulda had plenty of Emmys by now,” Kanye concludes.

This, coming from a guy who usually rants about awards and how meaningless they are, especially when he doesn’t win them, is rich.

I doubt the Academy is paying attention.
