Still no evidence that Apple plans such a model, though

Rumor has it that Apple might be planning a white version of the iPhone, possibly to debut with the next-generation in the fall of 2017, but as it usually happens with everything Apple, there’s still no official hint that this is indeed the plan.

A video that was posted on Twitter by Sonny Dickson, however, shows what seems to be a white version of the iPhone 7, which he describes as “Jet White” without providing any other details.

And while everything is pretty sketchy on this white iPhone, let’s dig deeper into details to see what this is all about.

First and foremost, why a white iPhone? Long-time Apple fans probably remember that there was a time when Cupertino actually offered a white iPhone, and now people familiar with the company’s plans indicate that bringing back this version is at least being considering within the firm.

But if this is indeed supposed to happen, don’t hold your breath for a white iPhone 7, as Apple typically launches new color versions with new generations, which means that white could be held back for the 2017 iPhone called either iPhone 7s or iPhone 8.

The ceramic Apple Watch

Demand for a white iPhone most likely skyrocketed when Apple launched the ceramic Apple Watch earlier this year, which is exclusively available in white. And given that Apple is already offering a glossy iPhone in black (Jet Black), it’s no wonder that so many people expect the iPhone to be white at some point in the future as well.

Apple is known as a company that’s trying to offer consistency across its product portfolio, and the majority of colors available on one device are available on others too, such as in the case of the Rose Gold.

In the case of this mockup, there’s only a small chance this is the real Jet White iPhone 7, as it’s most likely just a case purchased from third-party websites or a black iPhone that was painted in white using professional tools.

Regardless of whether it’s real or not, this mockup once again shows that a white iPhone 7 would look absolutely fantastic and Apple has absolutely no reason not to release it.
