The Galaxy A5 (2017) seems to be the second smartphone in the new Galaxy A series that is granted Bluetooth certification. Last week, the Galaxy A3 (2017) received the same treatment, but we're expecting even more Galaxy A series to go through the same process in the coming weeks.

Samsung is expected to reveal its new Galaxy A family soon and the Bluetooth certification puts these leaked devices one step closer to launch. The Galaxy A5 (2017) is a true mid-range device that doesn't have to impress through specs.

Since the launch of the Galaxy A series, Samsung has been trying to give this phones an aura of premium smartphones for two reasons: to differentiate them from other mid-range phones, but also to price them slightly higher.

While the Galaxy A5 (2017) won't pack a punch in terms of hardware, it will certainly be priced higher than other smartphones in the same specs range. Speaking of which, the Bluetooth certification recently received by the Galaxy A5 (2017) did not reveal any information on specs.

Luckily, the phone has already been spotted at Geekbench weeks ago, so we have an idea of what the Galaxy A5 (2017) has to offer when it comes to specs.

If you're looking for a new Galaxy A series phone that won't break the bank, the Galaxy A5 (2017) could be a good choice. The smartphone will be powered by an octa-core Exynos 7880 processor, complemented by a Mali-T860 MP4 graphics processing unit and 3GB of RAM.

Moreover, the phone will pack 16GB of storage, but it's likely to feature microSD card for memory expansion as well. It will sport a 5.2-inch display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution, and a decent 13-megapixel camera on the back.

Rumor has it that Samsung will also add a USB Type-C port, but the information hasn't been confirmed yet. We also know the Galaxy A5 (2017) will run Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow right out of the box.
