The Division is already one of the biggest launches in video game history and the development team at Ubisoft Massive working on the title wants to make sure that gamers remain entertained by the core mechanics in the long-run, with some tweaks to the Player versus Player elements coming relatively soon.

On the official Twitch stream that details the state of the game, the developers explain that they have not seen as much PvP battles as they expected in the specially designated Dark Zone, and they will incentivize gamers soon to engage in more combat against humans.

Ubisoft mentioned that it might decrease the penalty for dying while in the rogue state to make it more attractive for players of The Division to betray others and to try and steal the equipment that they are aiming to extract.

The company is also planning to try and reduce the weekly downtime required to work on the servers that power the video game, although it's unclear when this might happen.

Ubisoft also says that it does not currently have any plans to reduce the power of Rusher enemies and that it wants to make sure that Player versus Environment combat does pose a challenge from time to time even to high-level players.

The Division is planning for Incursions

The roadmap offered by Ubisoft shows that before the end of April gamers will receive access to a free piece of downloadable content that will introduce a new game mode designed to challenge groups of four high-level players.

The first Incursion is called Falcon Lost and will welcome those looking for a tough fight and with a gear level of at least 150 and a similar raid-like activity will be introduced in the second free update that's planned for May of this year.

In the meantime, the developers are also planning to use the weekly maintenance to introduce other improvements to balance and eliminate bugs.

Starting in June, paid DLC will be launched for The Division, starting with Underground, designed to open up areas under New York for exploration and to introduce a new faction to battle with.

Survival is coming in the fall, with a new game mode, with the first two paid drops offered with a 30-day exclusivity deal for those playing on the Xbox One from Microsoft.

The final announced DLC pack for The Division is called The Last Stand and should be live at some point early in 2017.
