14 DAY TRIAL // Tweetium is undoubtedly the best Twitter client for Windows 8 and Windows Phone right now, despite the fact that there are several other apps, including an official one from Twitter, available on both platforms.
But as far as features, looks, and reliability are concerned, Tweetium is number one, so with Windows 10 already alive and kicking, everyone was wondering when the development team planned to release a version optimized for the new OS.
Well, it turns out that the wait shouldn't be too long because the Tweetium team has recently confirmed that a Windows 10 version is already in the works and should arrive “soon.” How soon is too early to tell, but expect it to launch any time in the next few weeks.
Right now, it's not yet clear whether Tweetium will arrive on Windows 10 as a universal app or not, but chances are that it will, especially because, this way, the developing team can merge its PC and smartphone clients into a single one. The app is currently available on Windows 8 and Windows Phone with a similar look and feature lineup, so it shouldn't be too hard to build a universal app since part of the job has already been made with the previous client.
Look and features
Aside from the very intuitive and easy-to-use interface, Tweetium comes with multi-window support, color schemes, a live tile to show new mentions and DMs, smart streaming to make manual refreshes unnecessary, photo upload support, username auto-complete, and multiple account support.
The app can perfectly fit any screen size and comes with support for portrait, snap and what the developing team calls “everything in-between.”
The app isn't available for free, but with a $2.99 fee, and despite the price, it's already one of the most successful apps on Windows 8 and Windows Phone. So similar success is expected to be experienced on Windows 10 too when the new version arrives.
