Hackers take over Kylie Jenner’s Snapchat account

Here we go again. Only a few days after Modern Family star Sarah Hyland nude photos were posted online, a new celebrity appears to be targeted by a hack that gets us one step closer to a new episode of the famous The Fappening saga.

Kylie Jenner’s Snapchat account got hacked on July 23, with the attackers, who got control of her account, threatening to post nude photos online.

Messages posted on her Snapchat account after the breach called for followers of the 19-year-old scion of the Kardashian family to “RT for her nudes” and to “add for Kylie’s nudes,” though it’s not yet clear if the hacker is indeed in possession of any adult material.

While at this point it’s not yet known how exactly her account was compromised, there’s a good chance it all happened because of weak passwords or a successful phishing attempt, as the hack doesn’t seem to be related in terms of modus operandi with the famous The Fappening scandal that took place in 2014.

Hacker yet to leak any Kylie Jenner photos

At that point, a long list of celebrities, including Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Hudson, and Emma Watson, got leaked after their iCloud accounts were compromised, with photos that were shot with iPhones and backed up in Apple’s cloud service eventually leaking online.

An official statement for Kylie Jenner is not available just yet, and nude photos showing the American star are yet to be posted online.

It remains to be seen if the hacker indeed posts Kylie Jenner’s adult content online, but for what it’s worth, the hacker behind the original Fappening attack got sentenced to 18 months in prison after pleading guilty in late 2016.

The Pennsylvanian Ryan Collins obtained at least 50 iCloud and 72 Gmail accounts, most of them belonging to celebrities in the United States, and used the credentials to get access to nude photos that were eventually posted online.

UPDATE: The hacker who managed to compromise the account says no nudes were found. The attacker was already banned, with Kylie Jenner not yet releasing a statement.
