After launching a revamped interface for the iTunes Connect portal yesterday and also adding support for uploading tvOS applications, Apple has now released a new version of their TestFlight app designed to help developers invite users to test their apps' pre-release versions.

As described by the changelog published together with the TestFlight 1.3.0 release, this new version adds support for "internal testing for tvOS apps and adds the ability for testers to accept beta invitations with redemption codes."

By adding support for tvOS application internal testing into TestFlight 1.3.0, Apple opens the way for development teams to enable OTA distribution for pre-release version of their Apple TV apps before the Apple TV 4th-generation model is officially launched sometime at the end of October 2015.

According to the same release notes, beta testers will be able to find their redemption codes within the link contained in the invitation mail they've received from iOS apps' developers looking for external testers.

The redemption codes can be redeemed by manually entering them into the TestFlight application installed on the beta tester's iOS device.

The new TestFlight version also adds a number of stability and performance improvements

Apple also mentions that the new TestFlight version also comes with some performance and stability improvements but does not offer further details on what exactly they enhance.

As usual, developers will be able to invite up to 1,000 external beta testers via e-mail to test their apps' pre-release versions.

Moreover, after users install an app's beta version on their iOS device, they will be automatically notified each time the app's developer releases a new build.

Furthermore, as described by Apple on TestFlight's official page, the app makes it easy for users to provide developers with feedback regarding any bugs they found, and it also makes it simple for developers to give instructions on what areas need more testing.

You can download TestFlight 1.3.0 from Apple's iOS App Store or update it via the App Store app on your iOS device, by going to the Updates tab on the lower right side, and tapping on the "Update" button next to TestFlight's entry.
