Team Fortress 2, a multiplayer game developed by Valve that's still among the most played titles on Steam, has been upgraded once more for the Linux platform, and it comes with a community-created update named The Invasion Community.

The Team Fortress 2 multiplayer FPS is still quite popular despite having been released a long time ago. Its developers are releasing patches and updates almost on a weekly basis, and they are always adding new content or fixing balancing issues and bugs.

The interesting aspect of this is that it's actually a free-to-play title, but it's not an aggressive marketing. You can play it with ease even if you invest no money in it, and you have access to all the content with no restrictions.

What's new with Team Fortress 2

"The TF2 team is proud to announce Invasion, a wholly community-created update featuring an animated short, 16 new cosmetic items, reskinned weapons with cool death effects, a taunt, four maps, Unusual particle effects, and even an update landing page. It represents a boatload of work from some incredibly talented members of the TF2 community," reads the official announcement.

According to the changelog, a regression with weapon hit sounds has been fixed, the Advanced Options default slider position is 100, which is normal (0) pitch, an issue with the Festive Revolver not drawing correctly has been corrected, an exploit in Man vs. Machine related to infinite credits has been fixed, an exploit related to The Dalokohs Bar has been repaired, and the behavior of some items has been refined.

Team Fortress 2 features a large number of multiplayer modes, such as Capture the Flag, Control Point, Payload, Arena, King of the Hill, and more. Players can choose one of the nine classes: Scout, Soldier, Pyro, Demoman, Heavy, Engineer, Medic, Sniper, and Spy.
