14 DAY TRIAL // Earlier this month, a teacher in the Netherlands stripped in class to teach students about the intricacies of human anatomy. Not at all surprisingly, the quirky biology lesson proved a huge success.
The school itself shared a video and photos on Facebook. Soon enough, the posts went viral. After all, it's not every day that teachers strip in class only to be congratulated for their ingenuity.
A super cool lesson in human anatomy
Drifting away in class is something all students experience at least once in their academic career. To get them back on track and make sure they paid attention, Debby Heerkens, a teacher at the Groene Hart Rijnwoude school in Hazerswoude Dorp, decided to stage a show.
She put on body suits showing the human muscles, internal organs and skeleton, and then took them off in class one by one. Her unexpected performance didn't fail to impress.
At first, the students didn't quite understand what was happening. They just assumed their teacher was stripping in class, and were a bit taken aback by the sight of her removing her clothes.
Then, they realized her plain clothes weren't the only garments she was wearing. They broke into laughter and, more importantly, paid close attention to her as she was discussing the makeup of the human body.
Everybody seems to think this was a most inspired anatomy lesson
The video of Debby Heerkens removing her clothes that the Groene Hart Rijnwoude school shared on its Facebook page has been viewed hundreds of thousands of times.
By the looks of it, pretty much everybody agrees that this was a most inspired lesson in human anatomy and that students would do much better in class if other teachers would be this imaginative.
“Great. Respect for this teacher,” somebody wrote in a comment. “I applaud this teacher for being creative in the teaching of biology,” another of Debby Heerkens' newly acquired fans added.
