If there’s one thing that Taylor Swift hates is having the media say about her that she’s like a crazy stalker who buys a house next to her boyfriend’s, within weeks of dating. So when word got out last week that she was looking at a new Beverly Hills mansion and making wedding plans, she rushed to deny both rumors.

As it turns out, one of them was true: Taylor was looking to buy an impressive $25 million (€22.3 million) mansion in Beverly Hills, and TMZ found the paper trail leading directly to her to prove it.

Taylor Swift is swift

Available below is Taylor’s tweet denying the reports that she was buying a house and planning a wedding with her current beau, world famous DJ Calvin Harris. The idea was probably to deny the wedding reports first and foremost, but in the process, she also had to infirm talk that she was buying a new house.

TMZ found the tax records that confirm that, indeed, Taylor is now the owner of the Samuel L. Goldwyn estate valued at the impressive amount of $25 million (€22.3 million), i.e. the same house that she denied on Twitter she was buying.

On October 1, the “title to the estate changed hands from the seller to a company that’s headquartered in Nashville. The address of the business goes right back to Taylor’s Nashville address,” TMZ says.

She has added a new piece to her ever-expanding real estate collection.

A repeat offender

As it happens, this isn’t the first time that Taylor lies about buying new real estate and then gets called out on it. When she was dating Conor Kennedy in 2012, rumor had it that she was looking at property in Hyannis Port, where he was living with his family.

Speaking with Vanity Fair at the time, Taylor scoffed at the rumor, saying that this was the media’s way of selling copies and getting more clicks online, by making up this completely false narrative painting her as the desperate spinster who would buy a house near every boy she liked, who happened to go out on more than a couple of dates with her.

The same reporter to whom Taylor offered this denial later found out that she had been seeing the house in question with her parents for almost a year, after Rory Kennedy recommended it to her. She bought it in November 2012 for $4.8 million (€4.28 million).
