tapTrak, an iPhone app designed to be “the mobile micro-journal for everyone,” has climbed to the #1 spot on the App Store's New and Noteworthy list after just one week of existence.

“A selective group of the most interesting new apps according to Apple,” as tapTrak LLC puts it, the chart’s most prominent app at the moment is the mobile micro-journal tapTrak.

The app is free to download and extremely easy to use. Its simple interface allows you to track any activity via a counter and timer combination: “It's a microjournal for everyone and anything. Count up or count down. Add a timer or stopwatch,” says the developer.

Users can record notes for each activity's trak entry and then immediately share them on Facebook and Twitter. According to its makers, “tapTrak is as much about productivity as it is about fun.” Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad, tapTrak requires iOS 4.0 or later.
