The device is still available at a number of retailers

It’s not a secret that the United States is not exactly Microsoft’s top Windows Phone market, but as we get closer to the official debut of Windows 10 Mobile, things aren’t really improving in the country.

T-Mobile has just announced that it’s giving up on the Lumia 640, which is, in fact, the best-selling Windows Phone model in the United States in the last couple of months, and for the moment, the carrier doesn’t seem to be very willing to restart sales anytime soon.

In a statement for WindowsCentral, T-Mobile officials have confirmed the news, saying that the company is now adjusting its inventories depending on the current demand. In other words, Lumia 640 might not be selling as well as we think, at least for T-Mobile, so that’s why they’re giving up on this device.

“We are no longer selling the Microsoft Lumia 640. Our stock/inventory changes based on the demands for particular phones,” the company is quoted as saying.

Still available in the US

On the other hand, even though T-Mobile isn’t selling the Lumia 640 anymore, the device can still be purchased in the United States from several other retailers at prices below $100.

Lumia 640 is one of the newest Windows Phone devices on the market and comes with a 5-inch screen, a Snapdragon 400 processor, and 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of internal storage, an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 1-megapixel secondary one, microSD card support, and a 2500 mAh battery that can easily get you through the day.

Microsoft hopes that demand for its devices could increase once again when Windows 10 Mobile hits the market later this year. The first devices powered by this new OS are expected to arrive in October in the form of Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL, both considered flagship models, which could compete against high-end phones powered by Android and iOS in the United States.
