It looks like one of the cheapest and less featured Windows Phone handset, the Lumia 435 is now getting Windows Phone 8.1 Update 2 at T-Mobile.

Although the Magenta carrier has yet to confirm the information, NPU claims the update is now being pushed OTA (over the air), in stages.

If you own the T-Mobile Lumia 435, then you should be looking for the updated OS version 8.10.15148.160 and firmware version is 02075.10000.15215.361xx.

Microsoft's decision to upgrade the Lumia 435 to Windows Phone 8.1 Update 2 shouldn't surprise anyone anymore since the Redmond-based company did the same move with a few other Lumia smartphones, including the Lumia 635, 735 and 830. In fact, most of Lumia smartphones can be upgraded to Windows Phone 8.1 Update 2, even though not by official means.

Lots of other smartphones launched by Microsoft's OEM partners received the update as well, including the HTC One M8 for Windows, Lava Iris Win1, BLU Win HD LTE, Yezz Billy 4.7, Prestigio 8500 Duo and many more.

As many of Windows Phone fans probably know by now, the new update brings some useful new features and improvements.

Bluetooth HID profile and MKV video playback support added

For example, Windows Phone 8.1 Update 2 adds Bluetooth HID profile support, which means Lumia users will be able to connect external keyboards to their smartphones via Bluetooth.

In addition, the update brings the option to manage phone settings more easily through the categorized and searchable settings menu. Also, support for MKV video playback has been implemented too.

Other new features like the ability to change the phone name from Settings / About has also been added, along with other under the hood enhancements.
