The smartphones could arrive sooner than April 19

A few days ago, we reported that T-Mobile started informing customers that their pre-ordered Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ smartphones could arrive sooner than April 21, the official release date for Samsung’s latest flagship.

However, it seems that T-Mobile is rushing things even more, as it informed several customers that their pre-ordered Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ smartphones have started shipping, according to Phandroid. Customers can check their order status and see if they received tracking numbers for their shipments.

But there’s no way of telling when the orders will actually reach the doorsteps of T-Mobile’s customers, as that could very well happen next week, considering the Easter weekend. Still, some lucky customers could very well receive their phones even before April 19. T-Mobile has already billed customers for their Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ pre-orders, which is another sign that the smartphones will arrive to users soon.

The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ release on April 21

Last year, T-Mobile shipped the Galaxy S7 early, and the US carrier intends to adopt the same strategy with this year’s Samsung flagship. T-Mobile currently sells the standard Galaxy S8 for $750, or $30 per month for two years. Samsung’s latest smartphones won’t arrive in stores until April 21, after which they will be available at T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon, AT&T, and Best Buy.

Samsung recently said that the Galaxy S8 and S8+ saw strong pre-order figures in the US, although actual numbers weren’t revealed. Pre-orders showed strong-double digit growth compared to reservations placed for last year’s Galaxy S7 and S7 edge.

In Samsung’s home country, customers placed 728,000 pre-orders for the new devices, and Samsung’s mobile chief has recently stated that the company is aiming for 1 million pre-orders even before the device is released on April 21. Those who aren’t keen on the Galaxy S8 can wait for a couple of months for Samsung and AT&T to release the rugged Galaxy S8 Active in the US.
