The System76 Superfan contest has come to an end, and the winners have been announced. They will be going to Denver to meet that System76 team, and they will get to try all the cool stuff the company is making.

System76 is a US company that builds computers, laptops, and servers, but with a twist. It only ships them with Ubuntu and usually with the latest version available at that time. They make a point of this fact, and they have become known in the Linux community for their constant support.

They do more than just installing a simple operating system. For example, they have a PPA with the proprietary Nvidia drivers that allow them to test new releases.

The System76 Superfan contest was started just a couple of weeks back in anticipation of their first Intel Skylake-powered computers. Members of the community had to contribute in some creative way to the campaign and had to tag the social media entry with #System76fan & #ContestEntry.

It was all quite simple, and a lot of people participated. The winners have been announced, and they did a lot of interesting stuff.

The Superfans are here

"This was a very difficult decision. There were so many awesome entries to choose from, and we want to thank all of the contestants. Congratulations to everyone! Thank you to all of the amazing contestants that made this contest so engaging, adding to the difficulty in picking winners," wrote System76 on Google+.

The winners of the trip to Denver are Nathaniel W, Anthony K, Kevin K, Helena B, Ryan S, Steven T, Gardiner M, and Nathan D. Their full names haven't been disclosed, but you can check the Google+ entry to see what they did to get picked.

As a side note, System76 announced yesterday the launch of Wild Dog Pro, the first system powered by Intel Skylake processors.
