System76, the American hardware manufacturer known for delivering the coolest and most powerful Ubuntu computers, is proud to announce the availability for a new laptop, called Oryx Pro.

Created from aluminum alloy, Oryx Pro is both lightweight and durable, offering a gorgeous matte-black brushed finish, a high-quality keyboard with concave keys, a high-performance H-class Intel CPU, and stunning displays that are bright and have outstanding contrast and brilliant colors.

But the actual power of the System76's new Oryx Pro laptop relies on dedicated Nvidia GeForce GTX 970M and 980M GPUs (Graphics Processing Units), which will make sure that you will be able to play the most visually impressive games, as well as to experience superior audio and video quality and multimedia capabilities.

Technical specifications of Oryx Pro

Oryx Pro's technical specifications are quite amazing, and you can rest assured that you'll be able to play any Linux game you want to its maximum settings. The laptop comes in four configurations, two 15.6" models with either Nvidia Geforce GTX 970M or 980M graphics, as well as two 17.3" models with the same video cards.

Both models are powered by the recently released Ubuntu 15.10 (Wily Werewolf) operating system, and they boast a sixth-generation Intel Core i7 Quad-Core processor running at 3.6 GHz, full HD matte display, up to 64 GB dual-channel DDR4 RAM running at 2133 MHz, Gigabit Ethernet, and Intel Wireless-AC Wi-Fi.

Moreover, Oryx Pro offers a backlit keyboard, multitouch clickpad, one HDMI port, two M.2 SSD disks, four USB 3.0 Type-A ports, an SD Card reader, two Mini DisplayPort ports, stereo speakers, stereo mic, headphone jack, S/PDIF, mic jack, Kensington lock, built-in 1080p HD webcam, as well as a powerful Li-Polymer 60 Wh battery.

While the 15.6-inch Oryx Pro model weights 5.5 lbs. (2.49 kg), the 17.3-inch one weights 7.05 lbs. (3.20 kg).
