It’s been happening at Saint Charbel’s Church, could easily be a trick on the eye, because of light and heat

Parishioners from Sydney’s Saint Charbel’s Church claim to have witnessed a miracle when they noticed that the lips of Virgin Mary on a painting moved during prayer, saying the words along with them. They even captured it on video, which has gone viral since.

You can see it embedded below.

The first to draw attention to the “miracle” was Kirsten Keirouz at the beginning of the month, the Daily Mail reports. She says her friends saw it too, so she knows for a fact that she didn’t witness a trick of light and heat. She also insists that the movement of the lips was real, as counter-argument for anyone suggesting that it is an illusion caused by camera movement.

She’s not the only one to speak about the “miracle” of the praying Virgin Mary either.

George Akary also saw the “miracle” and vouches for it being real, not a trick on the eyes. He says he witnessed it more than one time, in different lighting conditions and different angles, and he’s positive that it’s the real deal: the Virgin Mary prays with them when they say Hail Mary.

Check out the video below. It does seem like the illusion of movement on the painting is caused by a combination of movement of the camera, light and poor video quality. But does that mean that the “miracle” doesn’t exist? What do you think? Let me know in the comments.
