14 DAY TRIAL // Apple is expected to announce three new smartphones this year, one of which will feature a complete redesign and mark Apple’s switch to OLED displays on its iPhones. The iPhone 8 is surely the most exciting model, while details on the iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus aren’t that many.
A newly leaked image by SlashLeaks reveals molds for all three upcoming smartphones, featuring them side by side. The molds show the shape of the new devices and the location of the rear camera, but the image also reveals how the three phones compare in terms of size.
Therefore, the iPhone 7s Plus appears to be the largest smartphone set to arrive in September, while the iPhone 8 positions itself before the iPhone 7s in terms of overall device size. The iPhone 7s is rumored to feature a display size of 4.7 inches, while the iPhone 7s Plus will have a screen size of 5.5 inches. Both successors to last year’s iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will have LCD displays, while the iPhone 8 will feature an edge-to-edge OLED screen with a size of 5.8 inches.

Larger display size on the iPhone 8 doesn’t mean that the smartphone has to have a bigger overall size, as Apple intends to significantly reduce the bezels on the new phone and have the screen cover the front panel almost completely.
The image also shows the shape of the vertical dual-camera setup on the back of the iPhone 8, together with the horizontal dual-lens setup on the iPhone 7s Plus and single-lens system on the iPhone 7s. In addition, a picture depicting the schematics for the iPhone 8 also leaked, but we can’t tell for sure if the 3D Touch ID is placed on the back or below the display.
Reports from the past few days indicate that Apple will most likely go with a Touch ID embedded inside the screen, and manufacturing cost for the new technology is double compared to regular iPhones. That being said, take the images with a grain of salt, as nothing is certain until the three smartphones are actually announced.
