The Journey Down, the superb point and click adventure title developed by SkyGoblin, is coming to an end. The third part in the series is now on Kickstarter, and it needs your help to happen.

The Journey Down is one of the most interesting point and click adventure games that have come out in the past few years. The fact that it had Linux support or that the game was hand drawn in unique style was a big part of its appeal, but the most important aspect was the world and mythology created around the story. There are many good adventure games in today's market, but not many dare to create the world from scratch, with its own mythos.

I've reviewed both of the previous two chapters in the series, and I haven't played anything quite like it since. The interesting thing is that SkyGoblin didn't want to create the biggest or the most beautiful experience in its genre, or anything like that. They just wanted to get their story out, and they had the perfect vehicle for it. The game was designed to be a three-part story from the start, and it would be a great shame if we didn't get to play the conclusion.

Final chapter of The Journey Down is on Kickstarter

The game is described by its makers as an afro-noir point & click adventure saga set in a rich, atmospheric musical world. "At the outskirts of St Armando, Bwana and his trusted sidekick Kito struggle to make ends meet at their run-down gas station. Little do they know that the search for a lost journal will lead them to forgotten secrets of the mysterious Underland," reads the Kickstarter description.

You can read our reviews for the First and Second chapter (they contain some spoilers) for more details about the story, which is a little bit too complex to underline in a few words. What you do need to know is that The Journey Down needs your help to happen, and you can check their Kickstarter project if you want to pledge your support.
