Nintendo has just announced that its highly-acclaimed Super Mario Run mobile game will arrive on the Android platform sometime in March. An exact release date hasn't been confirmed yet, but a one-month time frame is more than enough to quench Android fans' thirst for Nintendo's arcade game.

If you're a Nintendo fan and can't wait to play the company's Super Mario Run, then you will be pleased to know that you can now pre-register in the Google Play Store to be notified when it launches.

We're also hoping that Nintendo will provide us with an exact release date closer to launch. Until then, the only way to find out when it's going to be available for download is to pre-register on the game's Google Play store page.

Newcomers to the Super Mario franchise should know that Nintendo's game will require Internet connectivity to play, so data charges may apply. Also, Super Mario Run comes with three different modes, each with its own gameplay style: World Tour, Toad Rally and Kingdom Builder.

The World Tour mode is in fact the game's single player campaign, where players must run and jump to rescue Princess Peach from Bowser's clutches. It includes 6 worlds that contain 24 new courses designed for one-handed play.

It's worth mentioning that while you will be able to download Super Mario Run for free via Google Play Store, access to all 6 worlds is subject to purchase. This means that you will only be able to play for free a few levels, after which you will have to purchase the game, which is likely to cost $9.99.

Toad Rally is a challenge mode where the competition is different each time you play. This mode allows you to compete against other players for the highest score as you gather coins and get cheered on by a crowd of Toads.

However, in order to play this mode, you will need Rally Tickets that can be acquired in multiple ways, including clearing worlds or through bonus games in your kingdom.

Lastly, the Kingdom Builder mode allows players to gather coins and Toads to build their own kingdoms. Nintendo added more than 100 types of items in the Kingdom Builder, so there's a lot to collect.
