The highly-addictive endless runner Subway Surfers has just received its monthly content update, which brings new gameplay features into the mix.

First of all, the new update has already been delivered on all three major mobile platforms, such as Android, iOS and Windows Phone. If you already have the game installed on your smartphone, then you should check for the new update.

Now, the newest Subway Surfers update takes players to Brazil where they will be able to surf the streets of Rio de Janeiro. But that's not the only addition included in this update. As expected, developers also added a new character and a brand-new board.

According to the official changelog, players will be able to “party with Jake and the crew in the colorful subway of Rio de Janeiro.”

New changes to power-ups have been implemented too, so players will now be able to use up to three Score Boosters in one run and take off for even higher scores.

New outfit and prizes for Weekly Hunts

Furthermore, Subway Surfers will be able to surf on the new Birdie board and get a brand-new, flashy Shake Outfit for Carmen, one of the unlockable characters available in the game.

Last but not least, developers added toucans on the tracks which can be picked up while running in order to earn prizes in the Weekly Hunts.

If you don't have the game yet, you can now download Subway Surfers for Android for free via Google Play Store. The game should be fully compatible with all devices powered by Android 2.3.3 and up.

For iOS users, the game is available for download for free via App Store. The game should work smoothly on devices running iOS 6.0 or later.

Last but not least, you can also download Subway Surfers for Windows Phone for free via Windows Phone Store. The game has been confirmed to support all devices powered by Windows Phone 8 and up.
