14 DAY TRIAL // Huawei has just unveiled its new flagship smartphones, the standard P9 and the more advanced P9 Plus, which should start selling next week all over the world.
However, the Chinese company has a few other devices in the pipeline, like the MediaPad T2 10.0 Pro, which leaked for the first time back in February.
Although it was rumored that the Huawei tablet would be introduced at Mobile World Congress 2016 trade fair, the slate was a no-show.
Today, a new set of press renders of the rumored tablet have leaked online, but we’re still not sure when exactly the MediaPad T2 10.0 Pro slate will go official.
The good news is we’ve received a few more details about what’s under the tablet’s hood, courtesy of German site Winfuture.de. At first glance, the slate is a slightly downgraded version of the MediaPad M2 tablet, which is already available on the market.
Massive battery inside, but Lollipop is a disappointment
First of all, Huawei MediaPad T2 10.0 Pro sports a 10.1-inch IPS capacitive touchscreen display that supports 1920 x 1200 pixels resolution.
Hardware-wise, the tablet should come equipped with a decent 64-bit 1.5GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, coupled with either 2GB or 3GB of RAM, as well as 16GB or 32GB of internal memory, which can be expanded up to 64GB via microSD card slot.
On the back, Huawei MediaPad T2 10.0 Pro features an 8-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash, and video recording, while on the front there’s a secondary 2-megapixel selfie camera.
We also know Huawei’s upcoming tablet will be powered by a generous 6,600 mAh battery, which hasn’t been rated by the manufacturer. The only downside seems to be the fact that it will run Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system right out of the box. Hopefully, Huawei will provide a Marshmallow upgrade soon after launch.
The LTE model will be available in Europe for €350 whereas the Wi-Fi only version should cost around €280. It will come in both black and white colors.
