The development team at Capcom is announcing that the March update for Street Fighter V, the first major one after launch, is set to arrive on March 28 and will introduce a wide range of new content for the fighting title, with a second one planned for March 30.

On Monday, gamers will be able to get access to the Challenge mode, which features demonstrations, beginner tutorials, intermediate and advanced, as well as character tutorials, all of them designed to teach players the core mechanics of the game and prepare them for the matches ahead.

Street Fighter V will also receive trials, which also feature all the 16 characters and will come with Fight Money rewards.

An online rematch option is offered in ranked and casual modes as long as both opponents are interested in it and spectating, and 8 person lobbies are now provided in the Battle Lounge.

Capcom says that it has also fixed some bugs associated with Street Fighter V and that there are also small balance tweaks made to the experience.

On March 30, the game will get access to the Alex character and the in-game shop, which will allow players to use their Fight Money to access new characters and story mode costumes.

No real-world money options are coming to Street Fighter V

Capcom adds, "One feature that will not be making it into the March update will be the Zenny (real money) functionality of the in-game shop. We have taken a long hard look at this part of the store, and after much review, have decided it is not ready to launch just yet. As Zenny is purchased with real money, we wanted to be extra careful and make sure it’s fully tested and optimized before launching it."

The company explains that, to make sure that no players are disadvantaged by the lack of real-world money use, they are making Alex and all future coming downloadable content characters introduced before the feature arrives free on a trial basis.

All those who own a Season Pass for Street Fighter V will be able to get access to premium costumes for DLC characters and keep them, and they should also receive a new special stage.

All players will also be able to use the story mode costumes for Ryu and Chun-Li on March 30.

Street Fighter V will receive bigger narratives for all characters in June, and Capcom is also planning to introduce a better system to deal with those who rage quit.
