Street Fighter V has just received some brand new details about its upcoming beta stage on the PS4 platform, with Capcom confirming the characters and stages, not to mention the start dates and the participating countries.

Street Fighter V is one of the most anticipated fighting games of 2016, as millions of franchise fans are looking forward to seeing what Capcom is going to deliver on PC and PS4 next year.

Until then, the Japanese publisher has promised to release a special beta stage on the PS4 platform later this month. After a bit of teasing, it's finally ready to share some actual details about it, on the PS blog.

The Street Fighter V beta has six characters, three stages

First up, in terms of actual content, Capcom mentions that the Street Fighter V test phase brings six characters. Four, in the form of Ryu, Chun-Li, M.Bison, and Charlie, will be available right from the get-go, while Cammy and Birdie will be unlocked through the test phase, so that Capcom can test out its content delivery system.

Three stages are planned, in the form of Bustling Side Street in China, Terminal Station in London, and Forgotten Waterfall, which is inspired by New Zealand.

The actual beta is a bit Spartan, as it instantly throws players into the matchmaking process after they select a character. Until a match is found, they can practice that specific character in the Grid virtual mode. There is no local versus in the beta, as the main goal is to test the online netcode.

Certain countries can access the test

The Street Fighter V beta begins worldwide on July 23, at 6pm PST and lasts for five days. North Americans (aka Canada and United States) can access it by pre-ordering the game via retailers like GameStop, Amazon, Best Buy, or straight from the PlayStation Network.

Those in Latin America can only access the test phase by pre-ordering from the PSN.

Europeans and those in other PAL regions can sign up for a chance to be invited into the test phase on this website. The process ends on September 15, so act fast.

Those in Asia and Japan can download a special Street Fighter V Closed Beta Test Ticket from the PS Store starting July 9 until July 14. Those who are selected for the trial will be notified via PSN by Sony.
