After confirming that iconic character Zangief would appear in Street Fighter V, Capcom now offers some actual gameplay details about his V-Skill and V-Trigger moves, not to mention the general abilities of the bulky Russian brawler.

Street Fighter V promises to deliver a good mix of old and new characters when it launches next year. Capcom has ensured that every few weeks new fighters get revealed, and the last period has seen quite a lot of surprising announcements concerning the game's roster.

Zangief brings brutal combat skills to Street Fighter V

Yesterday, Capcom revealed that another iconic character would be present in Street Fighter V, in the form of Zangief. Unfortunately for those who wanted actual details, the Japanese company only presented some screenshots and a gameplay video.

Now, via the Capcom-Unity website, the Japanese studio offers a brief description and, more importantly, juicy information about Zangief's V-Skill and V-Trigger moves.

"In Street Fighter V, Zangief shows off the results of his training through his newfound V-Skill, Iron Muscle and new V-Trigger, Cyclone Lariat. These two skills are just the tip of the iceberg however, as Zangief has even more new tactics in store for the world warriors this time around," the developer explains.

First up, there's Iron Muscle, Zangief's V-Skill. This allows him to flex his muscles and turn bright red. In this state, he can absorb one attack and recover his health. If players hold down medium punch and kick and then press a direction, they can move slowly to hit the opponent with Zangief's impressive muscles.

Next up, the V-Trigger is an evolved variation of the fighter's trademark spin attack called Cyclone Lariat. This allows him to spin at high speed and pull the opponent closer to his deadly punches, ensuring massive damage for as long as the gauge doesn't run out.

Three more characters are going to be revealed for Street Fighter V, and one of them has just been leaked online, in the form of Laura. The actual game arrives in early 2016 for PC and PS4.
