14 DAY TRIAL // StreamSquid is a relatively unknown music streaming service that uses Soundcloud and YouTube to deliver curated music to its users.
The Israeli startup has recently launched, and one of its inaugural features is a Grooveshark playlist importer.
This allows StreamSquid users to enter their Grooveshark username, or email, in a text field and then get a list of their former Grooveshark playlists, which they can then import into new or existing StreamSquid accounts.
Either if you decide to use StreamSquid to listen to your songs or not, the service still has its benefits, allowing you to at least get access to the inventory of songs you spent years and years collecting via Grooveshark.

"The first smile emerged when we found a way to restore our playlists from a remaining backup server of gs [Grooveshark], but still we faced a big problem, a xls file is a nice memory but not that good for playing music," say the StreamSquid in a statement for VentureBreak.
What followed was a coding bonanza, which ended up with the team of Ofir Yosef, Itzik Ben-Bassat and Ziv Waksman launching StreamSquid, as a new and legal way to listen to your songs.
Learning from the Grooveshark fiasco, the three created a totally new service which doesn't host one single song, but merely links "musician - song" references to Soundcloud entries or YouTube videos.

This way no music file ever touches the StreamSquid hard drives, and RIAA cannot sue and take them down as they did with Grooveshark.
Besides Grooveshark importing, StreamSquid also delivers lots of cool features like charts, genre navigation, radio stations, music albums, and a search feature to find and organize artists in your own custom playlists.
In a statement for TorrentFreak, the StreamSquid staff also announced, “In the coming days and weeks we are going to add features like songs queues and listening history, which will allow users to arrange their daily music stream.”
