The development team at DICE has recently announced that it was preparing to deliver a beta stage for Star Wars: Battlefront in October on the core platforms on which the game will be available, and now more details about some of the core mechanics are starting to be revealed.

On the official Reddit section linked to the title, a developer has confirmed that neither the testing phase nor the full game will feature a classic server browser.

Instead, Star Wars: Battlefront will rely on a new skill-based matchmaking system that is designed to make sure that players get into matches quickly and play with those who have similar abilities.

The original Reddit question was not talking about the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 versions of the title, but the way the answer is formulated suggests that the same system as on the PC will be used.

A special system that manages to deliver balanced matches for all gamers who play Star Wars: Battlefront is a great idea.

The only problem is that it has to function perfectly from day one, which means DICE needs to get a lot of relevant data during the coming beta phase for it.

The company had some problems with the matchmaking in Battlefield 4, so a lot of gamers will be skeptical about its ability to offer a feature that's so innovative without problems.

Star Wars: Battlefront will focus on the original trilogy

The studio has gone to extreme lengths in order to make sure that it delivers a video game that's as authentic as possible and satisfies the expectations of long-term fans of the movies.

The action will take place on planets ranging from Endor and Hoth to the new Sulluth and is designed to showcase the unique weapons and vehicles that the Empire and the Rebels use, as well as their mightiest Heroes.

Star Wars: Battlefront will be out on November 17 on the PC, the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4.

DICE and Electronic Arts are encouraging gamers to pre-order the game in order to get the free Battle of Jakku downloadable content pack on December 1, getting access to an engagement linked to the coming The Force Awakens movie.

The rest of the community will be able to play it one week later.
