Gamers can earn all the rewards via simple gameplay

Star Wars: Battlefront is a big game with a focus on multiplayer and the development team at DICE says that it does not have plans to introduce any sort of microtransaction mechanics to the shooter, despite the fact that a variety of credit systems will be present in the title.

Niklas Fegraeus, the design director working on the experience, tells Gamespot that gamers can earn credits in order to buy a variety of in-game rewards, all of them linked to overall performance and time spent playing.

Apparently, there are two types of currency systems in Star Wars: Battlefront, although the developer did not name them directly.

He explains, "There are several systems working together here. Just doing things in the game earns you points, and those earn you credits. That’s the baseline system; the more you do, the more credits you get. But then there are other systems, such as small challenges for you to complete, and rewards for different actions."

If no microstransactions are present in the shooter, it's highly likely that DICE will deliver a range of smaller DLC for it that will have low costs but will offer items that gamers cannot obtain otherwise.

Star Wars: Battlefront will target fans of the movies

The new The Force Awakens movie will be launched this year and the strategy for Disney is to work with Electronic Arts and DICE to deliver a game that is easy for them to pick up and play either before or after seeing the new film.

The shooter will not have a single-player mode and gamers will be able to either cooperate or compete in a variety of multiplayer modes.

The most interesting system of the shooter is the Hero mode, which allows gamers to become major characters from the movies, like Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader.

A beta for the game will be offered starting on October 6.

Star Wars: Battlefront will be out on November 17 and can be played on the PC, the Xbox One, and the PlayStation 4.

Gamers will be able to download a free Battle of Jakku content for it on December 8, or one week earlier as long as they place a pre-order for the shooter.
