Star Wars: Battlefront is shaping up to be one of the biggest releases of the year and some gamers have been asking why the development team at DICE is not introducing a single-player campaign for the title and choosing to only focus on multiplayer action.

Peter Moore, who is the chief operations officer at publisher Electronic Arts, claims that the company has data which actually shows that a very small number of players actually engage with the single-player-focused experiences in such titles.

The executive says that DICE is making sure that the game it offers will appeal to a large number of fans of the series and the science fiction universe on which it is based.

Apparently Electronic Arts has been willing to use data that it gathers to radically tweak the way it approaches the development of some titles and it did so with Star Wars: The Old Republic.

He is quoted by Gamespot as saying that, "Between when a dev team starts work on a game, and when it finishes, the world becomes a different place. I remember when we started work on Star Wars: The Old Republic; at the time, the model to go for was subscription. By the time we had the game ready, the model to go for wasn’t subscriptions."

Star Wars: Battlefront will deliver all the battles from the original trilogy

DICE has been saying for a while that it wants gamers to be able to get through all the major engagements that were shown or mentioned in the first three movies from the franchise.

The company is working both with classic locations, like Endor and Hoth, and with completely new ones, like Sulluth, and is dedicated to offering as much realism as possible.

During Gamescom 2015 a new Fighter Squadron mode was revealed, and the studio says that there are more experiences linked to the shooter that will be shown in the coming months.

Star Wars: Battlefront will be out on the PC, the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 on November 17, and on December 1 those who placed a pre-order will be able to get new Battle of Jakku downloadable content, with the rest of the community getting it one week later.
