Electronic Arts and DICE confirm that they're going to debut the Star Wars Battlefront beta test phase in early October across the PC, PS4, and Xbox One platforms. At the same time, they'll also roll out an early version of the Battlefront Companion experience that includes a collectible card game based on the shooter.

Star Wars Battlefront is one of the most anticipated games of this fall, and millions of fans are looking forward to the shooter made by DICE and set in the famous sci-fi universe.

The game's publisher, Electronic Arts, has already revealed all sorts of different details, alongside gameplay videos, screenshots, and other information about the shooter, having organized even an alpha stage earlier this summer.

A Battlefront Beta is coming next month with interesting things

Now, the two companies confirm on the official website that they're going to roll out a special Star Wars Battlefront Beta stage across PC, PS4, and Xbox One in early October.

This technical test phase will feature three different elements. First, there's a Walker Assault mode on the icy planet of Hoth, which even allows players to control two of the movie characters, in the form of Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader.

The beta also includes a Survival co-op mission on Tatooine and, for the first time, a brand new Drop Zone mode, which hasn't received any details just yet.

A card game and a companion app are also coming

Besides these actual gameplay modes, during the beta, fans will also be able to test the Star Wars Battlefront Companion experience. This will be available on the official website and will let players do things like check their stats and progression, customize loadouts or appearance, as well as connect with friends.

However, most surprisingly, the Companion experience also includes a Base Command collectible card game. By playing this, fans can earn in-game credits that unlock Star Cards, weapons, and other such things in the actual game.

The progression made by fans in the Star Wars Battlefront beta won't be carried over to the final game when it launches in November.
