The ongoing Star Wars Battlefront beta has quite a few imbalances and developer DICE acknowledges some of them, confirming that the Imperial faction is favored in the Walker Assault mode, as well as the fact that changes are going to be made in the future.

Star Wars Battlefront is eagerly awaited by many sci-fi fans, and developer DICE, together with publisher Electronic Arts, has revealed a wide array of details about the upcoming shooter, from screenshots and videos, to information about the mechanics, modes, and other aspects of the game.

This week, a special open beta kicked off across PC, PS4, and Xbox One, giving any fan interested in the game the chance to enjoy two competitive modes, in the form of Walker Assault and Drop Zone, not to mention a Survival mission either solo or with a friend through co-op.

DICE is aware that things aren't balanced in the beta

As mentioned in our Quick Look article about the test phase, while the game looks good visually and has pretty sharp mechanics, things aren't balanced all that well. As such, one faction or the other can snowball into an unstoppable force, while the two environments favor one team or the other.

After quite a few complaints, DICE acknowledges through some of its team members that things aren't balanced all that well in the current beta version.

Level Artist Daniel Cambrand mentions that the Walker Assault mode will be modified a bit in order to prevent the Imperial faction from being too powerful due to natural camouflage and map position.

Lead Multiplayer Designer Dennis Brännvall also explains that the studio is gathering a lot of data from the beta, and based on the feedback, many changes will be made. He also references just how tough playing as the Alliance is in Walker Assault.

It's unclear if these actual changes are going to launch for the beta until it ends on October 11, or if they'll be kept for the final version of Star Wars Battlefront, which arrives on November 17 in North America, and on November 20 in Europe and the rest of the world.
